River water from the Vöckla river is used to cool the Timelkam combined cycle power plant.
Under appropriate conditions (naturally unfavorable temperature conditions and / or river water quality) the cooling system is operated in circulation and requires treated river water as make-up water. The additional cooling tower water treatment provides this make-up water, which allows the cooling system to operate with a 3 to 4-fold thickening.
