Disinfection Plant Mauer

In the new erected transition camber Mauer two systems for disinfection of drinking water of the second Viennese mountain spring water main were constructed. The first disinfection step is carried out with 4 pieces UV-disinfection plants. They were developed especially for this project and have succeeded all necessary tests for the approval as ÖVGW-quality brand. A chlorine dioxide dosing unit was provided as possibility for the second disinfection step. The production of the necessary chlorine dioxide is performed by an appropriate treatment plant using hydrochloric acid and sodium chlorite. The new treatment plant was built in the course of this project as well. The plant flow rate amounts to 2800 l/s in total. Customer of this project was the municipality of Vienna. All mechanical as well as the electrotechnical equipment was delivered and commissioned.
