What began in 1987 as a family business specialising in water treatment and plant engineering has grown steadily and sustainably ever since. Today, around 430 employees across five companies and eight locations in Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia are part of the group. With a broad portfolio spanning drinking water and wastewater technology, industrial water treatment, swimming pool technology, building services, electrical engineering and contracting, as well as innovative business areas such as vertical farming, GWT Group brings together unique expertise.

GWT Schwimmbad und Therme GmbH is one of the market leaders in municipal and commercial swimming pool technology in Austria. Around 200 employees support projects from planning through to completion and ensure the satisfaction of the country’s largest thermal spa and swimming pool operators with comprehensive service. Our services include swimming pool construction, electrical engineering and building services. Smart control technology, photovoltaic integration and energy-efficient heating, air conditioning, ventilation and plumbing (HVAC) are all part of our portfolio. With locations in Sollenau, Graz and Braunau, and a sales office in Grafenwörth, GWT Schwimmbad und Therme is firmly rooted in the region while operating internationally.

GWT Water and Thermal Engineering

GWT Wasser- und Wärmetechnik GmbH covers the Group’s original core business: drinking water, wastewater and industrial water treatment. Around 180 employees in Leobersdorf and Salzburg design, build and maintain systems of every size.



The portfolio also includes instrumentation, control and automation (electrical, measurement, control and regulation technology), chemical sales, and the international specialist field of Wiping Solutions Recovery for banknote and security printing—a patented technology for the physical cleaning of wiping solutions, used worldwide.

GWT Contracting GmbH is a subsidiary of GWT Schwimmbad und Therme, specialising in energy performance contracting (EPC) for swimming pools. It assesses the condition of existing facilities and develops tailored efficiency measures. The key benefit is that customers can enjoy energy savings without any investment or risk of their own, as costs are recovered through guaranteed savings over the contract term.

Based in Sollenau, GWT Vertical Farmtec GmbH develops solutions for the agriculture of the future. At its core is the efficient use of water in closed-loop systems, an area in which GWT Group excels. Through vertical farming, the company is pioneering innovative approaches to make food production more sustainable and resilient. As a subsidiary of GWT Schwimmbad und Therme, it draws on the group’s extensive water treatment expertise.

Based in Maribor, Slovenia, GWT Aquatech d.o.o. expands the Group’s market presence in Southeast Europe. Its main focus is the installation and servicing of swimming pool systems. As a subsidiary of GWT Swimming Pools & Spas, GWT Aquatech also benefits from the Group’s network and quality standards.
