How does GWT treat scrubber water?
Our Wiping Solution Recovery plants use patented ceramic membrane ultrafiltration technology. The process operates entirely without additional precipitation or flocculation chemicals.
This is better for the environment and your budget, and eliminates the need for consumables such as perlite or sulfuric acid in the safety filter.
We manufacture and test all our systems at our own facility in Austria. Every module is factory-tested (FAT), reducing installation time on site and increasing operational reliability.

How does GWT's wash water treatment work?
Our patented ultrafiltration method with a ceramic membrane separates color pigments and solids purely mechanically from the used wash water, most of which is then returned to the gravure press
Physics instead of consumable chemicals
Separation happens through the membrane's pore size, not through precipitation and flocculation. Completely independent of perlite or sulfuric acid. This also reduces the amount of sludge.
Ceramic membrane with back-pulsing
The membranes are automatically backwashed during operation. They are resistant to caustic soda and wetting agents. This results in long service life and stable permeate performance.
Prefabricated in Austria
Systems are prefabricated in Leobersdorf near Vienna. This shortens on-site installation time and lowers the risk during commissioning.

Wiping solution in circulation, not in wastewater.
Ultrafiltration separates color and solid particles from the wiping solution. The cleaned solution goes back to the printing press, only the separated sludge leaves the loop.

The used wiping solution flows from the gravure press through sedimentation and a buffer tank into the circulation tank, the reservoir from which the ultrafiltration system is continuously fed.
In the loop between tank and module, the solution flows along the membranes: Whatever is small enough passes through the membrane as permeate and returns to the press. Color pigments and solids remain behind.
A purely physical process, without castor oil, perlite or sulfuric acid. Correspondingly less sludge needs to be disposed of.
