MAUER DISINFECTION PLANT
Two drinking water disinfection systems were installed in the newly constructed Mauer transfer chamber for water from the 2nd Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline. The first disinfection stage uses four UV disinfection units. These were specially developed for this project and passed all the required tests for approval of the ÖVGW quality mark. The second disinfection stage provides for chlorine dioxide dosing. The chlorine dioxide required is produced in a dedicated treatment unit using hydrochloric acid and sodium chlorite. This new treatment unit was also built as part of the project. The system has a total throughput of 2,800 l/s. The client for the project was the City of Vienna. All mechanical and electrical equipment was supplied and commissioned.
